RESA Law IRR Will Be Out Soon?
RESAR on Jul 16 2010 | Filed under: General
Is it true that the Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) of the RESA Law (RA 9646) will be finalized soon? That sounds like an exciting development, as over 30000 real estate brokers in the Philippines want to know what will happen next with the Real Estate Services Act…
The Professional Regulatory Board of Real Estate Service (PRBRES) is finalizing the IRR, according to various reports online.
This is part of what you’ll find in PhilStar.com’s Real Estate Services Act implementing rules out soon:
The law requires real estate service practitioners to pass the licensure examinations given by PRC, as a prerequisite to practice their profession. The first licensure examinations for brokers and appraisers are scheduled in December 2010, while that for consultants is scheduled for early next year.
Looks like things will be moving much faster in the coming weeks. Based on pre-RESA Law experience, people who wanted to take the real estate brokers’ licensure exam had to secure their Examination Permits from the DTI at least 3 weeks before the actual exam.
If the previous patterns persist, and if the exams are held in early December, we might see PRC-accredited review service providers offering regular, face-to-face seminar/review sessions in early October (at the latest).
Don’t be too surprised, though, if we start seeing announcements regarding review classes as early as August 2010 or, more realistically, September 2010.
