People preparing for the real estate brokers’ licensure exams, as well as those interested in accessing the RESAR Online Review and Multimedia Real Estate Online Library have been asking about the network of websites used by the web-based membership site. Here it is…
The main website is hosted in California, while the online videos, audio files, and downloadable PDF files are hosted in Amazon S3 servers in northern Virginia, USA.
(Yes, that’s Amazon, as in Amazon.com)
We do realize that we don’t live in a perfect world. You’ve probably experienced banks going offline here in the Philippines, right? Well, it also happens online.
Websites will also sometimes go offline. It’s not a question of IF, but a question of WHEN.
That’s why we have created a back-up site of the RESAR Online Review, and the webserver is located in Chicago, Illinois. When you join the web-based membership site, you will find out the location of the back-up site (in the “Technical Stuff” page of the FAQ).
There’s also a second back-up site located in Houston, Texas. The location will be emailed to RESAR Online Review members if both the main website in Los Angeles and Back-Up Site #1 in Chicago go offline.
Now you know why the RESAR Online Review membership price was recently raised to P1,980 (for 180-days’ access).
How much do you spend on your cellphone bills over a 180 day period? Something to think about. 🙂
Anyway…
Congratulations to those who join early, because you are enjoying the benefits of your improving online review, without having to pay extra.
Back in July 2010, when the joining fee was only P500, we only had one webserver. Today, we have the Amazon S3 high-availability server (to handle the growing number of RESAR Online Reviewees), plus not just one, but TWO back-up webservers.
Yet those who joined in July 2010 don’t have to pay extra. That’s their reward for taking action.
So if you’re planning to join the RESAR Online Review, why wait for the next round of price increases, right? Please get in the Online Review Announcement and Updates mailing list for details… Thanks! 🙂
